A botanical bas-relief panel, hand-cast in plaster from wild garlic gathered from Jesmond Dene near where I live.
I picked these in late March, when they were just coming into bloom, but not too late in the season so that I could still enjoy using the leaves for cooking. These cast beautifully and they put me in mind of an Art Nouveau design. The plant itself does not remain in the finished piece. What remains is the impression it left.
Each piece is cast by hand and is one of a kind. Small differences in surface, colour and edge are part of how the material records the plant.
19 × 19 × 3 cm. It is intended to be wall-mounted, and it hangs from a nail or screw so that it sits flush with the wall, but you can also stand it on a tabletop easel.
This panel comes in a presentation box. The outer postal packaging is generally repurposed.
Care. Dust with a soft dry brush rather than a damp cloth, and no household cleaners. Plaster is for indoor use only.
Postage is calculated by weight at checkout. I aim to post within 5 working days, and it is often sooner. If anything is delayed, I will email you.
